Active PT & Sports treats beneath skin, beyond bands and belts

As a college Freshman, Jake Hoeppner knew he wanted to help people when they are in need. When a football injury necessitated physical therapy (PT) for Hoeppner, as a program participant, he recognized PT as “one of the last areas in the medical field where you get to spend a significant amount of time with people.”
Drawn to meaningful human interactions, Hoeppner pursued PT and recalls that throughout his graduate program, he “got to really get into what was people’s motivation for wanting to get better” and see the results of his work “helping people with all levels of dysfunction or impairment return to a pain-free, normal life.”

Root River Dental Brightens Smiles in Stewartville

For nearly a decade, the property that is now Root River Dental sat vacant. In 2016, Zach Lechner, D.D.S., and his wife, Hannah (Garry) Lechner, decided to design a private-practice dental office. The Lechners titled the new development, which took nine months (and two years of planning prior) before its completion in Dec. 2018, “Project Beacon” to convey to community members, particularly youth, that “you can grow up here and make a difference. We wanted to be a catalyst and ‘beacon’ for development in Stewartville.” says Hannah.

It is important for all parents and caregivers to be aware of the potential hazards of snow play involving snow forts, tunnels and tall snow banks by the City streets. Please speak to your kids about staying back from roads and not play in snow piles along the streets, digging tunnels due to potential to collapsing. This also pertains to the large piles at Bear Cave Park, please stay off – stay safe!

Steve’s Auto & Truck Repair Keeps Residents on the Road

Steve Denny, owner of Steve’s Auto & Truck Repair on 211 Main St. S, grew up in Stewartville since he was a toddler in 1961 and has always liked the small-town feel. As a kid, with his mom and brother he helped out at his dad’s service station, at first pumping gas. He started performing minor fixes on vehicles and “shop work” when he was 12 and continued through Spring 1981, when someone else took over operating the building, and Denny’s dad took a job with the school district.
