Because of budget constraints, the City will only be able to offer animal control during the normal work day:  7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday 7:00 a.m. to noon. Our public works crew will pick up a dog that has been loose only if you are able to catch it.  Your help will be greatly appreciated. We do not pick up cats or hold any cats that have been turned in at our office.

If a dog has been lost we will keep it for three work days and then turn it over to a local animal shelter. If you realize your dog is missing, please contact us right away. We almost always get reports that a missing dog is running at large or that it has been rescued.

If you want to complain about a dog barking or running without a leash, please contact us with the name and address of the owner and we will contact them.  If a dog is barking at night or after our work hours, you my call the Olmsted County Law Enforcement Center at 328-6800 and a sheriff’s deputy will respond.  Please make sure you call us the following morning so that we can follow up on the call.
