Nicole Fay of Stewartville knows that reading is very important for her daughters, Kadynse, a fourth grader at Central Intermediate School; and Malorey, a second grader at Bonner Elementary School.

“We read every night,” Nicole said. “They usually read to me. Also, going down the road, we have a game. They have to find things that start with the letters A, B, C or D…”

Nicole’s focus on reading and learning explains why she decided to bring her daughters to Bonner’s Read S’more Literacy Night on Friday evening, Feb. 26. Including young students and their parents, more than 800 people attended the third annual event.

“It brings a lot of people together,” Nicole said. “It’s fun. It gives people something to do…”
