Backyard Fire Pits – Please Be a Good Neighbor

Fires must be contained in a fire ring.
Only unpainted & untreated wood, coal, or charcoal may be burned.
Material to be burned must be limited to a pile no larger than 3 feet in diameter by 3 feet height.
No person shall conduct, cause or permit open burning of leaves, yard waste, garbage, oils, rubber, plastics, chemically treated materials or other materials which produce noxious smoke such as tires, railroad ties, chemically treated lumber, shingles, tar paper, insulation, composition board, sheet rock, wiring, paint or paint filters.
Fire is not allowed to smolder with no flame present.
The smoke from the fire must not disturb the neighbors.
Must completely extinguish the fire.
All ash must be removed to a permitted solid waste facility.

The EDA is hoping to gain a better understanding of the amenities that you’re especially fond of as well as improvements that you would like to see made to benefit the future of the City. Please take a couple of minutes to fill out this brief survey that will help us work toward an even brighter future.

The City of Stewartville will now begin to post our Council Meetings in video on YouTube. We want to demonstrate transparency and accountability; it also provides real-time and accurate information to citizens quickly and efficiently. Our goal is to encourage more citizen involvement. Please enjoy our April 10th Meeting, and going forward all videos will be posted the day after a council meeting. Council Meetings are always the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7pm.
